Living into my knowing - Trusting What is best for me

living into my knowing.jpg

I have spent a good portion of my life making personal decisions based on what others might think of me. I have also gauged my “rightness” by those people’s reactions to said decisions. In a nutshell, l haven’t known who I really was or what it was I truly wanted or needed…..for decades.

As I begin to discover these things for myself, I am struck by how alone I can feel sometimes in my decision making. Especially when those decisions don’t go with the flow of the main stream (talk about feeling isolated). But, I am learning it’s okay to go it “alone”. I am learning it’s okay to feel my way through things for myself EVEN when they feel hard, awkward or scary. I am learning to trust myself. And that there’s a part of me deep within that has all the answers I need.

Getting curious and digging in

Asking myself questions along the way has become an amazing tool as I lean into my knowing. Not long ago I realized the questions I ask of myself (and the people I work with) while creating could be used outside of the studio! And I love how after so many years of creative self - discovery practice, the knowledge I have taken in has become fluid and now flows into all areas of my life.

Making big decisions can still feel tough for me sometimes, but like anything else it’s a practice. I am a work in progress. I create through these tough feelings as I slowly learn to trust my own internal guidance system.
